A bassist, Young-ho Cho was born in 1968 in seoul, Korea. After he graduated from Seoul National University (B.Mus), Young-ho continued to study in Germany, receiving his Diplom (with the highest score) and Konzertexamen from the Hochschule fuer Musik Koeln.
While attending SNU, Mr. Cho participated in the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan. Also, in Germany, he was a member of the orchestras, such as Junge Deutsche Phil., Duesseldorf Symfonikern /Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Praktikant) and WDR Sinfonieorchester Koeln (Aushilfe). He joined in making several recordings and had concert tour in major cities in Europe.
After returning to Korea, he had served as the assistant principal of Korean Symphony Orchestra for many years. Currently, Young-ho Cho is a member of Tongyoung International Music Festival Ensemble (Ensemble TIMF) and serves as General Director of the Camerata Antiqua Seoul.
Mr. Cho is also an acknowledged teacher as he successfully instructs the next generation at Yewon School, Seoul Arts high school, Seoul National University, and Dongduk University Now he is Principal of Seungnam Phil. and Guest Prof. of Korea National University of Arts.
